James Evan's presentation to the children was superb. Throughout the entire time, the students were completely engaged and gripped by the tales of his adventures.
They particularly enjoyed the hands-on experience with all of the climbing equipment. The presentation itself was fun, filled with audio and visual stimuli and thoroughly informative. It was clear how much the children got out of the session, by how many questions they had at the end!
As our students study 'Explorers' in humanities, James' visit fit in with our curriculum superbly. It would complement several humanities topics due to its links with the natural world (mountains, rivers etc). However, the talk does not just fit a humanities curriculum: it would cover a lot of topics in the PSHE (teamwork, resilience, hard work, ambition etc).
Furthermore, James took the time to educate the students about the impact of global warming in the places he has visited. For older students, this would also be a great stimulus to get them thinking about future careers and ambitions.James brought a world of adventure to our classroom, and we look forward to having him again in the future.

James Evans provided and delivered an engaging presentation which was filled with interactive opportunities and visual stimuli.
The children were hooked throughout the lesson and thoroughly enjoyed trying on climbing equipment and handling different mementos that had come all the way from The Himalaya. It was clear that the session had been well thought out in order to take the children on an adventure and for them to feel fully immeresed in the different climbs James has completed.
Our class are studying 'Mountains' in our curriculum and the presentation added real life experiences to deepen the childrens' understanding and add meaning to the children's learning. As well as this James covered different areas of the curriculum regarding climate change, cultural capital and PSHE such as building resilence.
This session sparked many discussions within the classroom about careers, goal setting and climbs they would like to achieve. It was evident how inspired the children had been. We will definitely be having James back in school to share the rest of his adventures.
